Set Up Your Ledger Device
To begin, make sure your Ledger device is genuine and purchased from Ledger or an authorized reseller. Then download Ledger Live, the official companion app for desktop and mobile. Ledger Live allows you to securely set up your device, install apps, manage accounts, and monitor your portfolio in one place.
During setup, you’ll create a PIN code and receive a 24-word recovery phrase. This recovery phrase is the only backup to your wallet. Write it down and store it offline in a secure place. Never share it with anyone and never enter it on a computer or phone. Ledger will never ask for it.
Manage and Grow Your Assets Securely
Once set up, Ledger supports thousands of coins and tokens, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and many more. Through Ledger Live, you can send and receive crypto, track balances in real time, and verify every transaction directly on your device screen—so you always know exactly what you’re approving.
Ledger also lets you explore the crypto ecosystem safely. You can stake supported assets, swap crypto, or connect to trusted third-party apps and decentralized services, all while keeping your private keys protected by your Ledger device.
